pii-engine-finalSensitive data is extremely important to protect for your organization. Release of public records, data breaches, and simple sharing between parties can cause unnecessary distress and costs when names, addresses, credit card numbers, etc. become public.

Personally Identifiable Information, or PII, is sensitive data that can be used to distinguish one person from another. This data being made public can dramatically increase the potential for identity theft and removes the level of anonymity necessary in public disclosures. Redaction is one way to make sure your documents containing sensitive data are secure. However, it takes a great deal of time and effort to go through and redact documents.

What is TEAM’s Redaction Engine?

TEAM has created a solution to make your documents easily secured at capture. TEAM’s Redaction Engine utilizes multiple technologies to scan for and identify sensitive data and then enables automatic redaction of that information in subsequently generated PDFs. Within Oracle WebCenter Content, Oracle Forms Recognition is used to scan new documents and locate any PII data by recognizing sensitive data patterns, such as a SS number. The patterns that are recognized can be easily controlled using Post Indexing Customization. Once all PII is identified, a new PDF of your document is created with the sensitive data redacted. By automatically seeking and redacting PII patterns, TEAM’s Redaction Engine makes it easy to secure and protect your organization’s sensitive data from a breach.
